In the 1960s Ford Product Manager Donald N. Grey who conceived the Ford Mustang and Ford Engineer Paul G. Axelrad presented the idea of the Ford Bronco to Lee Iacocca.  This was the birth of the Bronco.  This utility vehicle was developed as an off-road vehicle to compete against the likes of the Jeep CJ-5 and the International Harvester Scout.  Then from 1965 through 1996 the Ford Michigan Truck Plant in Wayne, Michigan produced the Bronco for all to enjoy.  All Broncos were produced with 4 wheel drive powertrains.  The first Broncos had their own chassis and then later they shared the same chassis with the Ford truck lines.  Customers loved this large sport utility.  Later a smaller version was produced called the Bronco II.  In 1965 the consumer started wanting the convenience of more doors and the Ford Expedition came about.

In 2021 the 6th generation of Ford Broncos will start being produced.  There is a limited edition run called the First Editions for the customers who have long been waiting for the comeback of the Bronco. The quantity limit of these Broncos is 3,500.  Reservations have been taken and all 3,500 have already been sold.  After the First Editions are out, regular orders will start.  The all new Bronco is designed and built for the outdoor enthusiasts.  This SUV will have Best in Class Departure and Breakover, Ground Clearance (11,5 inches), and Water Fording that includes a higher mounted air intact and with a capability of 33.5 inches.  You will have 5 drive modes to choose from (sand, slippery, sport, eco, and normal).  You will have 2 choices of powertrains: the standard 4 cylinder with 2.3L Ecoboost with 270 of hp and 310 lb-ft torque and for the power lovers you can get a 6 cylinder 2.7L Ecoboost with 4X4 that has 310 of hp and 400 lb-ft torque.  You have the choice of 2 or 4 doors in the new Ford Bronco with many other amenities.  The muscular sport utility has the heavy masculine look of the past and just enough change to make you know its in a new era.  Be looking for the First Editions on the road, coming soon!
